Major seventh (ex. CM7) – no adjustment

Dominant 7 (ex. C7) – lower the 7th

Minor 7th (ex. Cm7) – lower 3rd and 7th

Half-diminished 7th (ex. Cm7 b5 or C∅7) – lower 3rd, 5th, and 7th

Diminished (ex. C07) – lower the 3rd and 5th a 1/2 step, and the 7th a whole step

Augmented 7th (ex. C+7) – raise the 5th and lower the seventh
